Brian Winstanley passed from this world Friday, January 28, 2022.
Brian, emigrated from Aberdeen, Scotland, to the Tatamagouche area where he began farming and became a member of the landed gentry. He was a man of good humor, full of kindness and generosity.
He loved dowsing and the more esoteric the better. He gave of his time in the planning and participating as a workshop leader for many of the ADS yearly gatherings held at the Tatamagouche Center.
Visiting Brian at his home was akin to going to Harry Potter”s school at Hogwarts. Brian was very mechanically inclined and he was very independent. Every mackerel fishing adventure became a dowsing competition between Brian and his friend Charles Hubbard- often ending in a tie.
Brian, in his retirement, mused about returning to his beloved homeland.
